The police say that investigations are being conducted into the circumstances surrounding the death of pensioner Bebe Jahooral Banu, 66 years, of DeWillem, WCD.
According to the police, her semi-nude body was found at about 1500h yesterday, in a room on the lower flat of her home with a piece of cloth wrapped around her neck.
A man has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations as the police await the results of a post-mortem examination.
