(Jamaica Gleaner) St. Catherine Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of three persons in the division since yesterday evening.
The dead men are Theo ‘Chevel’ Bent, 21, and Herman Fearon, 47, labourers of McCooks Pen, St. Catherine.
The third person has not yet been identified.
The police said about 9.45 p.m., the unidentified man was in an area call “Cow Gully” near Bog Walk, when he was pounced upon by unknown assailants, who shot him several times all over his body.
He was rushed to the Linstead Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
In another incident, two men were killed during a robbery in McCooks Pen, St. Catherine.
According to police report, the men were among a group of persons at an establishment in the community, when four men exited a motor vehicle and proceeded to rob the patrons of cash and a laptop computer.
Before leaving, the men opened fire hitting the deceased.
The men were pronounced dead at the Spanish Town Hospital.
Last year, the division recorded 174 murders, 34 less than the 208 in 2010.
