There were wins for Vasco and Top 25, a draw for Cool Runnings and Eagles while the Development Team gained a walk over from Blue Berry Hill when the Guyana Beach Football Association (GBFA)’s Banks DIH Beach Cup League commenced on Sunday at the Christianburg Ground, Linden.
The matches got underway following a march past of the eight participating teams.
In the opening game Cool Runnings and Eagles played to a 5-5 draw at the end of regulation time.
Nigel Bradford scored a double in the second and the 26th minutes while Eagles other goals came off the boots of Derron Smith in the third minute and Dirk Farrell in the 23rd minute.
Eagles fifth goal came courtesy of Cool Runnings, Cedric Hunte who conceded an own goal in the 28th minute.
Scoring for Cool Runnings were Kennard Simon who netted a double in the 12th and 25th minutes; Seon Brewely who scored in the eighth minute; Errol Davids, who netted in the 14th minute and Marlon Benjamin who scored in the 21st minute.
In the second game Vasco edged Wisroc by the odd goal in nine.
Vasco’s Oswin Hope netted a hat-trick in the second, 11th and 23 minutes while Jason Allicock chipped in with a double in the 21st and 27th minutes.
Wisroc’s goal scorers were Jonathan Fredericks who scored in the third, fourth and ninth minutes and Collis Gift who netted in the 18th minute.
In the third match of the evening Shakie Charles, second minute, Delon Bailey, fourth, and Keith Bailey in the 22nd and 23rd minutes scored for Top 25 while
Silver Shattas scorers were Colwyn Davids 11th and 28th and Damion Williams 26th.
Matches will continue on Thursday at the same venue commencing at 5pm.
