There seems to be no improvement in the garbage situation here in Bartica. The Bartica NDC has a tractor and trailer which usually takes the garbage into the garbage dump. However, there is a garbage truck which collects garbage for a monthly fee from residents. I do not know for what reason, but this truck does not go into the garbage dump; it dumps the garbage on the roadside generally blocking traffic at the dumpsite roadway at Byderabo.
The residents around that area are complaining of the flies and stench coming from the garbage on the roadway. It also affects schoolchildren.
We are calling on the Bartica NDC and the Minister of Local Government to see to it that garbage is not dumped on the public roadway and is only taken inside the dump. This reckless dumping must stop.
The citizens of Bartica are fed up, but the problem will be solved if garbage is taken into the dump.
Many thanks to the Bartica police and traffic section for doing a fine job for Bartica. The officers should keep it up.
