Police say that at about 0845h. today, farmer Vijay Ramdass, 34 years, and Hazrat Ibrahim, 17 years, of Grant 1806, Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, were travelling in a boat in the Crabwood Creek Backdam when they were attacked by two men armed with shotguns.
Police say that the armed men discharged shots which struck Ramdass to his right eye and Ibrahim to his upper back and escaped.
The injured men were taken to the Skeldon Hospital from where they were referred to the New Amsterdam Hospital and admitted for medical treatment, police said.
Investigations are in progress.
