Chief Executive Officer of the Guyana National Industrial Company (GNIC) and President of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA), Clinton Williams, has been inducted into the Caribbean Shipping Association’s prestigious Silver Club.
Williams’ formal induction into the Caribbean Shipping Association’s (CSA) Prestigious Silver Club, coincided with the recent 2011 Annual General Meeting of the CSA in Barbados. The induction is in recognition of Williams’ service to the local and regional shipping industry over the past 25 years.
As a member of the association’s Silver Club, Williams is now expected to play a more integral role in the development of initiatives designed to enhance the regional shipping industry.
The CSA is the umbrella body for all agencies and organizations involved in the maritime industry in the region, and Williams is the second member of the local shipping association to have received the Silver Club award, the first being Desmond Sears of Delmur Shipping Company.
The GNIC offers ship-building and ship repairs services as well as freight solicitation, cargo handling, and customs.
Williams, a trustee of the Shipping Association of Guyana (SAG), was a key member of the group that established the SAG in 1995 and served as that body’s president from 2002 to 2006.
