Inmates had ganja in Camp St jail

Two inmates of the Georgetown Prisons accused of narcotic possession while in prison were yesterday remanded by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Justin Felix and Roisi Castellino are accused having in their possession 15 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking, on January 7, at the Camp Street Prison.

The jointly charged duo pleaded not guilty to the charge, when it was read to them at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

When asked, Castellino, a Brazilian, through his interpreter related to the court that he has been incarcerated for one year now.

Meanwhile, Felix related that he is a remanded prisoner on a murder charge.
No details of the allegations presented to the court.

The matter was transferred to Court Three for January 26 for reports and fixtures.
