BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – All-rounder Kenroy Williams, along with openers Rashidi Boucher and Martin Nurse were the outstanding performers in the rain-affected second Barbados three-day trial match which ended on Sunday.
Williams, the captain of the national team at last year’s Regional Super50 tournament in Guyana, collected six wickets for 52 runs with his off-spin, as a side led by Shamarh Brooks were dismissed for 264 on the second day.
Boucher hit the top score of 95 and left-hander Nurse, seeking a recall to the national side for the first time in seven years, supported with 67.
Williams did not have the same level of success with the bat, but his side finished the match played at the Yorkshire Club on the outskirts of the capital.
Opener Omar Phillips led the way with 46, Nekoli Parris made 38, uncapped Jason Greene got 35, Barbados-born Surrey all-rounder Christopher Jordan was not out on 34, wicketkeeper/batsman Mario Rampersaud added 32 and West Indies opener Kraig Brathwaite made 23.
Nurse displayed his all-round skills, taking three for 22 off 12 overs and national leg-spinner Nikolai Charles, two for 89 off 21 overs.
