National cycling coach Hassan Mohamed and Ricks & Sari Agro Industries Limited will team up to host the 19th annual Ricks & Sari Agro Industries ‘Teach Them Young’ cycling programme today at the National Park Circuit. The programme, which will pedal off at 9am, will include the following 11 events: 12 to 14 years Boys & Girls 3 Laps, BMX Boys Open 3 Laps, BMX Boys 6 to 9 years 2 Laps, BMX Boys 9 to 12 years 3 Laps, BMX Boys 12 to 14 years 3 Laps, Veterans Under 50 years 5 Laps, Veterans Over 50 years 5 Laps, Veterans Over 60 years 5 Laps, Upright Cyclist 5 Laps, Juveniles 10 Laps & the feature invitational 35-Lap race.
The event, which will be the first on the cycling calendar for 2012, is scheduled to attract the crème de la crème of local cyclists.
Last year’s winners were Paul De Nobrega, who won the feature 36-lap event in one hour, 20 minutes and 32 seconds and Michael Anthony who finished the 10-lap juvenile category in 24 minutes and 11 seconds. Kennard Lovell pedaled away with the Veterans under-50 years five lap event in 13 minutes, 11 seconds.
Representatives of Ricks & Sari Argo Industries Ltd. will distribute the prizes to the winning participants.
