The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) on the occasion of You-mun-Nabi this year will host Aashiq Al-Rasul in Guyana on Sunday, February 5 at 14:00 hrs at the National Cultural Centre under the theme “Mercy to All Mankind”, celebrating the life of the Prophet Muhammad, a press release from the CIOG said.
This special activity is in keeping with activities planned by the CIOG for the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
Aashiq Al-Rasul (AAR) is a group of classically trained singers and percussionists who perform an impressive repertoire of contemporary/traditional nasheeds in Arabic, Urdu and English. The group is considered Britain’s most versatile nasheed group and is in its tenth year.
AAR has performed for thousands, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, at some of the most prestigious venues and events, including the Glastonbury Music Festival, ISNA Convention, Celebrate Eid Tours and the Muslim Millennium Festival.
