(Trinidad Express) San Fernando East Member of Parliament Patrick Manning continues to show signs of improvement, as he recovers from a stroke at the San Fernando General Hospital.
However, visitors are still being restricted to his immediate family, a release from his constituency office stated last evening.
The release stated that Manning was in good spirits and on the road to recovery.
“Mr Manning’s medical team is working feverishly to ensure he receives the best care. Physiotherapy continues and tests conducted show massive signs of improvement,” it stated.
Manning’s family thanked chairman of the South-West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA), Dr Lackram Bodoe and his medical team led by Dr Kamtar Ramcharan and citizens for their support, prayers and encouragement.
The former political leader of the People’s National Movement (PNM) suffered a stroke at his Sumadh Gardens, San Fernando, home last week Monday.
He was taken to the public health facility, where a team of doctors were assigned to monitor his condition. His wife, Hazel, said last week that she was pleased with her husband’s progress.
She said Manning was sitting on his own and asking about the nation’s development.
Manning’s visitors included former prime minister Basdeo Panday, his daughter Mickela, Health Minister Dr Fuad Khan and Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines Dr Ralph Gonsalves.
