Nineteen-year-old Tiffany Clarke who stands accused of murdering her lover Sonobia James at the Red Dragon Night Club on February 26, 2011 was yesterday committed to stand trial in the High Court.
Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry handed down the ruling when Clarke yesterday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. The magistrate informed a teary-eyed Clarke that sufficient evidence had been made out against her for the matter to be committed to the High Court.
Prosecutor Stephen Telford made an application for the other witness to be reserved for the High Court.
The allegation against Clarke is that on the said date and place, she murdered James. The teen, of 67 Hunter Street, Albouystown, was not required to plead to the capital offence of murder when it was read to her in court.
