Yoruba Heritage Foundation donate supplies to Buxton/Foulis schools

The socio-cultural and charitable arm of the Ifa Aiyetoro Church Yoruba Heritage Foundation on Tuesday donated a number of school supplies to several schools in the Buxton/Foulis district.

According to a press release from the group, the gift included ballpoint pens, highlighters, pencils and sharpeners, plastic, wooden and cutting edge rulers and plastic file folders.

Ifa Aiyetoro Church Chief Priest Balogun Mwanza presents a reading book and other items to Deputy Head Teacher at the May 26th Nursery School while the pupils look on.

It also contained reading books, computational skills books and notebooks, among other items.

The ULEC Academy at Paradise Village, Paradise Primary School and the May 26th Nursery School at Melanie Damishana benefited from the exercise.

Excited students of the ULEC Academy mill around the table where the items donated by the Ifa Aiyetoro Church Yoruba Heritage Foundation were displayed.

President of the Foundation Chief Priest Balogun Mwanza said the supplies were donated by local and overseas church members as well as their relatives. He said the Yoruba board passionately believes in the value of and the options that a good education can provide and as such it had the pens stamped “Education is the key to success” to inspire the users. Several others district schools and groups have also been earmarked for distribution later this week. Elder Akini Olamina and other members of the Foundation accompanied Mwanza to distribute the items.
