Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton granted $15,000 bail to a Laing Avenue woman accused of using abusive language to two of her neighbours, when she appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday to answer to the charges.
The court heard that on January 31, at Laing Avenue, Georgetown, 44-year-old Michelle Goodrich, of Lot 5 of the same street, made use of abusive language to Lillian Persaud whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned. It is also alleged that on the same day the defendant used abusive language to Ulanda Shawls. Goodrich pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecution did not submit any facts on the matter to the court. It also did not object to bail but asked the magistrate to place all the parties on a bond pending the determination of the case as they all live at Laing Avenue.
In granting bail, the magistrate cautioned the trio to exercise good behaviour. They were ordered to appear in Court One on February 10 for reports and fixtures
