(Trinidad Guardian) Police on Thursday night charged the principal of a prestigious Maraval primary school with cruelty against a child under the Childrens’ Act. The Port-of-Spain CID laid the charges against the female principal, who is also the owner of the school, after receiving instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard.
She is due to appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate today to answer the charges. She was re-arrested late yesterday and taken to the Central police station on St Vincent Street, in Port-of-Spain. The charges arose out of an incident that took place at the school involving the principal and two of the school’s pupils.
