Colin Jones, Randy Mars, Jafar Simpson, Anthony Watson and Basil Morgan were yesterday committed to stand trial in the High Court for the attempted murder of two policemen.
The decision was handed down by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, following the conclusion of the preliminary inquiry into the charges against the men.
The allegation against the jointly-charged accused is that on November 4, 2009, at Georgetown, they discharged loaded firearms at Police Constable Rajindra Singh and Police Detective Damintra Indrapaul, with intent to commit murder on them.
The men are still facing inquiries into other charges against them.
