Dear Editor,
Could you please ask Mr Christopher Ram, the well known accountant, to do some pro bono work on percentages to get social justice for the people of Guyana? This is to do with the Lotto Company.
Recently the company introduced a Super 6 lotto and did away with the ordinary game. This was said to be a new game where you were said to have a better chance of winning. That’s great.
I regularly bought five hundred dollars worth of tickets which gave me five chances. Now my five hundred dollars can only buy two chances at two hundred dollars a chance. My winnings have remained constant, at nil, my chances have reduced how many per cent? Sixty per cent? The company, which to my knowledge was doing very well, would be doing well, well, well! This must be good.
However with my 60 per cent loss in chances, coupled with 100 per cent increase in price, what am I losing in total? Can Mr Ram advise?
I can’t complain, I’m not the complaining type, besides I’m now saving one hundred dollars per week, so I can’t sign my name or else the tax man will be after me for his pound of flesh from this extra income.
Yours faithfully,
