Link Show 28, Guyana’s popular annual satirical revue opens at the National Cultural Centre on February 17 at 20.00 hrs.
According to a press release, the cast includes some new and exciting faces. In addition to stalwarts like Director Ron Robinson, Henry Rodney, Ajay Baksh, Rajan Tiwari, Michael Ignatius, Sheldon Braithwaite, Sonia Yarde, Lavonne George, Sherry Ann Dyal, Simone Dowding and Leslyn Fraser, the new faces include Nirmala Narine, Lloyda Nicholas Garrett, Randolph Critchlow, Mark Kazim and Nuriyyih Gerrard.
Other members of cast are Troy Parboo, Johann David, Mark Luke Edwards, Sean and Paul Budhna, Abigail Brower, Tonaisea Robertson, Kijana Lewis, Tishandra Inniss, Nicola Moonsammy, Raymond Persaud, Travis Mckenzie and Kwesi Edmondson.
The much talked about show, jointly produced by GEMS Theatre Productions and The Theatre Company will highlight many social and political issues. Popular themes that will be satirized are the recently held elections and the results, major political parties, government projects, election campaigning, protesting and a number of social upheavals.
Popular personalities will not be spared their fare share of lampooning either, according to Gem Madhoo-Nascimento, producer of the show.
Madhoo-Nascimento also advised that patrons get their tickets early. Tickets cost $2,000, $1,200, and $1,000 and will go on sale from February 10 at Ashmin’s Trading, Giftland Office Max, Nigel’s Supermarket and the National Cultural Centre.
The show runs from February 17 to 20.
