A 28-year old motorcyclist of Hosororo Hill, North West District (NWD) died on the spot last night after crashing into a parked truck on the public road in the area.
Dead is Devon Romascindo, a father of five and an employee of the Mabaruma Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC).
Reports are that around 8:30, Romascindo was riding his motorcycle along the roadway from his community heading to the administrative centre of Mabaruma when he crashed into an unlit truck which was parked along the side of the road. He was later rushed to the nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to an eyewitness, the man sustained severe injuries to his head and neck while his motorcycle was damaged beyond repair.
Reports are that persons had complained to the police about the unlit truck along with several other vehicles which were parked at the side of the dark stretch of the busy roadway linking the two communities.
Police are investigating the accident.
