Khadija Musa, United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative, on Tuesday presented her credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett.
In a press release, the ministry said Musa succeeds Dr Mamadou Kiari Liman-Tinguiri, whose tenure has ended. Prior to her appointment, Musa served as Deputy Resident Representative of the UNDP to Egypt, where she was tasked with managing and implementing programmes.
Government is committed to further strengthening its existing programme of cooperation with the UNDP, which is supportive of national development priorities, the ministry said.
“These priorities include those that are aimed at alleviating poverty and realizing the Millennium Development Goals by the 2015 United Nations target date,” it added.
