There was some success for Success XI, Wolf Warriors and Mahaica Masters in the Demerara Zone of the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA)Hadi’s World Incorporated softball competition over the week-end.
Success XI defeated Cena XI by four wickets; Wolf Warriors turned back the challenge of Challengers by nine wickets and Mahaica Masters blitzed through the defence of their opponents Parika Defenders on the way to an eight-wicket win.
The highlight of the latest round was a hat-trick recorded by R. Sargeant of Herstelling in that team’s encounter against Tornado.
Sargeant ended with 3-25 as Tornado were dismissed for 40 in reply to Herstelling’s 209 for 5 off 15 overs.
They lost the match by 169 runs.
In the women’s matches Latoya Smith bagged four wickets for six runs as Wellwoman defeated Mahaica Creek Princesses by 97 runs.
