DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, CMC – West Indies have continued to languish at number eight in the One-Day Internationals, in the latest International Cricket Council rankings released on Tuesday.
The Caribbean side has 79 points and remains way off the pace set by former one-day champions Australia who remain on top with 129 points.
Similar to their Test fortunes, West Indies have struggled in the shorter form of the game, winning just seven of their last 18 ODIs.
They will have the opportunity, however, to improve their ranking when they face Australia in a five-match series starting in the Caribbean next month.
England, meanwhile, jumped to fifth in the standings on 111 points following their 4-0 whitewash of Pakistan on Tuesday.
World champions India are second, South Africa are third while losing World Cup finalists Sri Lanka lie fourth.
