A mentally ill patient of the Georgetown Hospital was injured last night after he jumped off a balcony in a bid to escape from nurses.
Stabroek News was unable to ascertain the manโs name but was told that he sustained minor injuries and was still being treated in the Accident and Emergency Unit up to late last night.
A source told this newspaper that some time after 7 pm the man who hours earlier was referred to the institution for treatment,ย jumped from the second story balcony of the male medical ward.
