Guyanese Alana Seebaran, 24, wowed the judges and defeated 35 other participants from around the world to capture the 2012 Miss India Worldwide Pageant crown, held in Paramaribo Suriname on Saturday night.
Seebaran wept as it was announced that she had become the 23rd queen. She was chosen ahead of the other two finalists, runner-up Miss Kuwait Anvita Sudarshan and second runner-up Miss Australia Olivia Rose.
She also won the best talent prize for her dance which captivated audience representatives from around the world.
The Miss India Worldwide beauty queen will return to Guyana with nearly $2M in cash and other prizes.
