World Day of Prayer will be observed on Friday under the theme ‘Let Justice Prevail’, and a service will be held in Georgetown at St Andrew’s Kirk, Brickdam and Avenue of the Republic at 17:00 hrs.
Services will also be held in New Amsterdam, Corriverton, West Coast Berbice, East Coast Demerara (Beterverwagting), East Bank Demerara (Grove), West Coast Demerara, Linden, Bartica and Essequibo Coast, according to a press release.
And on Sunday there will be a service for children and young adults at Calvary Lutheran Church, Alexander Street and North Road, Georgetown, at 15:00 hrs.
The release also stated that an invitation is extended to all.
World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement of women of many traditions in more than 170 countries and regions who have a continuing relationship of prayer and service. The Worship Service is written by the women of the World Day of Prayer Committee of Malaysia and adapted by the Guyana World Day of Prayer Committee, the release added.
