Dear Editor,
For some time now, I have seen a herd of horses who seem to live on the Rupert Craig Highway just around the beginning of the UG Road, and I have often wondered who on earth owns them. Someone has to own these horses for as far as I know, we do not have wild horses in Guyana much less living in Georgetown/ Greater Georgetown.
This morning, not unexpectedly, in the vicinity of the US ambassador’s house, there lay on the road a horse which had been killed in the most brutal manner. These animals do not deserve such treatment. They are living, breathing creatures just like us.
I hope the relevant authorities deal with this matter in a humane manner.
Yours faithfully,
R A Narine
