(Jamaica Gleaner) – Britain’s Prince Harry has arrived in Jamaica on a four-day official visit.
As the jet touched down at the Norman Manley International Airport, members of a Jamaica Defence Force contingent began a gun salute.
During his time in Jamaica, Prince Harry will visit the University of the West Indies, the Bustamante Hospital for Children, the Victoria Jubilee Hospital; and the Rise Life Management Service in Kingston.
He is also slated to be hosted by Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller at the historic Devon House and by the Governor General at a state dinner at King’s House.
In addition, the Prince will take part in military exercises at Up Park Camp alongside soldiers of the Jamaica Defence Force.
The Prince is visiting Jamaica on behalf of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who is celebrating the 60th anniversary of her ascension this year.
The government has disclosed that it will spend $3 million to host Prince Harry.
