Idi Lewis, former Caribbean men’s singles table tennis bronze medallist has donated a quantity of equipment to the Rasville Youth Organization.
The RYO is coached by another former national player in Melissa Dow- Richardson.
Lewis, who is attached to the Malteenoes TT Club as coach, presented two table tennis racquets and a bag of balls to the organization.
In handing over the equipment, always give of their best.
“You have the talent and along with the coaching from Melissa, I know you can go on further and make not only the community proud, but your parents and even playmates,” he told the gathering.
Acciording to Lewis, whob reached the pinnacle of the sportv at the junior level when he won the Caribbean boy’s singles title the aim of the donation is to assist the players’ development, even as they strive to fulfill their potential.
The club boasts an up and coming star in 10-year-old Tyriq Saunders, who has been invited to train for this year’s Pre Cadet championships scheduled for Cuba.
Dow-Richardson, a founder member of the organization, praised Lewis for the timely gesture which she declared will be utilized for the benefit of the young players.
She revealed that she has planned a developmental tour for the club to Bartica this weekend where she will be able to further asses the development of her charges, especially Saunders and the heavily talented pair of Edward Favorite and Delmar Leadbetter.
