Through artists from the Caribbean, the Caricom Community Secretariat (CARICOM) used their half-yearly meeting of Heads of Government Conference in Suriname to launch a variety of products intended to bring public awareness to Gender Based Violence.
In a press release coinciding with International Women’s Day, observed yesterday, CARCICOM stated that 15 artists from Belize, Guyana and Suriname participated in a workshop – Caribbean Artists Uniting Against Gender Based Violence – last year, where the objective was to train Caribbean artists to raise awareness on Gender based violence.
Through the use of Public Service Announcements, jingles, calypso and a
