The Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Robert M. Persaud and staff of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) are mourning the passing of former Commissioner Brian Lance Sucre.
He was 64.
According to a release from the Ministry, Sucre joined the Geological Survey and Mines Department in 1967 as a Geologist trainee then went to University of Manitoba to pursue a degree in Geology under a CIDA scholarship. He was appointed as Geologist on May 7, 1973 at the Department of Geological Surveys and Mines of the Ministry of Mines and Forests.
