President Donald Ramotar and Chilean President Sebastián Piñera discussed ways of further strengthening relations between the two countries, when they met on Friday at the Royal Torarica in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Piñera, who is also the Pro-tempore President of the Community of Latin America and Caribbean States (CELAC), was a special invited guest at the 23rd Inter-Sessional meeting of the Conference of Caricom Heads of Government, the Government Information Agency (GINA) said. After the meeting, the two leaders met privately and committed to meeting at another forum to further discussions.
According to GINA, Ramotar said he and Piñera found common ground on mining, which is prominent in Chile and attracts large investment.
