The Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC) joined hands with the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) to sponsor a two-day Inter-zone Cricket Tournament in Berbice.
The BCB in 2012 is placing special emphasis on cricket in West Berbice to unearth new cricketing talents in that area at all age groups.
Chairman of the BCB Special Events Committee and Public Relations Officer Hilbert Foster stated that two two-day matches would be played at the Blairmont and Bush Lot grounds.
Players from the West Coast of Berbice would be divided into two zones as the BCB strives to expose the younger players to the experience of playing the longer version of the game apart from the popular 20/20 and 40-over games.
Foster, who is also the Secretary of the RHTYSC, disclosed that in 2012 the BCB would also be hosting 20/20 and 40-overs knockout tournaments in West Coast Berbice.
On behalf of the BCB, the veteran cricket administrator expressed gratitude to Mr. Nazrudeen Mohamed of Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and the RHTYSC for their investment in the development of Berbice cricket.
