Josea Barker was yesterday placed on $100,000 bail after denying that he stole a bangle.
Barker, 32, of Durban Street, Lodge, appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge of larceny from the person.
It was alleged that on Tuesday, in Georgetown, the accused stole a bangle valued US$900 or GYD$180,000 from the complainant.
The defence attorney asked for a reduction in the amount of bail but this was denied and Barker was remanded to prison until Monday.
