Police say that at about 1615h yesterday, ranks of a roving mobile police patrol conducted a search on a mining camp at Mowasie Backdam, Potaro.
As the ranks approached the camp, a man was seen throwing an object into the bushes. It was retrieved and found to be a .38 Taurus revolver with six matching rounds.
875 grams of cannabis sativa (marijuana) were found in the camp during a further search by the police.
The man has been arrested and will be charged shortly.
