Hikers Hockey Club secured its second win in as many matches while All Greys got the better of debutants Saints as play in the John Fernandes Insurance Second Division league continued Saturday at the St. Stanislaus ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Hikers disposed of Old Fort 3-1 in a very entertaining match.
Arogdy Brandford was once again the leading goal-scorer for Hikers with a double strike on both halves of the match.
The diminutive striker scored in the 26th minute to give Hikers a 1-0 lead at half time and returned to score again in the 43rd minute.
Former national under-21 player John Abrams pulled one back for Old Fort when he found the back of the net in the 57th minute.
Andrew Stewart netted goal number three for Hikers in the 69th minute as they chalked up their second win following a 3-2 upset victory over defending champions Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) in the tournament’s opener.
All Greys Vets dominated the younger opponents Saints in their debut match. Former national striker Ivor `Nancy’ Thompson opened the scoring in the 21st minute while Azad de Abreu made it 2-0 nine minutes later.
In the 43rd minute Kwesi Lewis pulled one back for Saints only for Allan Fernandes to put the issue beyond doubt one minute later.
