It is with great joy I learnt that the Bank of Baroda is expanding. The time is right and proper to do this. The moment seems auspicious, the energies of the universe seem to dictate this, as so many banks have been expanding and opening new branches nationwide.
For many years the Bank of Baroda seemed not to want to go anywhere, satisfied with what it had in Central Georgetown. The undersigned encouraged many Managing Directors to consider setting up branches, and to try to impress the Board of Directors to realize the benefits of this.
Had it been done then, up to thirty years ago, Bank of Baroda would have had branches nationwide, and controlled the major shareholders.
I had suggested over the decades they use technology, and take advantage of scientific developments such as ATMs and the wonders of plastic.
But with the arrival of its latest Managing Director, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Kala, just a few months back, a branch is set to open on 26th March at Mon Repos, and housed in a building with many recognized and colourful businesses, which is also comfortable and pleasant.
A special congrats is due to Mr. Kala for his vision, dynamism and enthusiasm in convincing his Board of Directors, and ensuring this branch is opened within months of his arrival. I encourage people on the East Coast of Demerara to open accounts and support this branch of Bank of Baroda.
My understanding is that in the near future, maybe as little as three months, it will be ATM ready.
On the first instance in 1979, when I went to open my first account with five hundred dollars, which was tremendous money for me at that time, I was most impressed with the philosophy of the Bank of Baroda “Thou shall forever be prosperous with the Bank of Baroda.” Of course, I researched this policy, and why this philosophy, and found that the first branch was opened with special prayers and worship, at a most auspicious time, and it was asked at the ceremony to the Almighty God and the Universe’s Powers, that whoever is honest in its dealings with the Bank of Baroda that they Shall forever be prosperous. I feel I have been prosperous considering all things, with the hard work, the projection and all, but indeed I feel comfortable with this bank. I also was told that whoever is deceitful and intends to defraud and has bad intentions, they shall fail and even go bankrupt. I found this interesting and even amusing somewhat.
So, people of Guyana save your monies, do good and honest business with the bank, and ye shall forever be prosperous! Best wishes Bank of Baroda. The Bank has thousands of branches worldwide.
