Malteenoes Sports Club will host its 2012 youth cricket coaching programme from Friday at the club’s ground on Thomas Lands from 16:30hrs.
The programme will be for budding talent between the ages of 10 and 15 and will be held on Mondays and Fridays.
Former national opening batsman Neil Barry, who is affiliated with the club, told Stabroek Sport about the programme.
“It is a basic cricket coaching course and it will have some human development skills as well, such as etiquette but it’s a basic starter’s programme for the young talent and we are encouraging persons to get involved,” Barry said.
He also shared his opinion on the expectations of the programme. “Just as in the past we expect to produce cricketers of the future… our track record speaks for itself and that’s what we at Malteenoes do,” Barry stated.
Daniel Richmond was named the coach of the programme. Registration forms for the programme can be uplifted from Malteenoes Club after 17:00hrs.
