The Upper Corentyne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCCI) elected a new executive body at its Annual General Meeting held earlier this month.
In a press release, the UCCCI said Krishnand Jaichand of the Intercity Taxi Service/City Inn was elected president; Ganesh Gangadin of the Shell Service Station, vice president; Vishnu Doerga of Venu Shopping Centre, secretary; Harry Ghaness, manager of RBL Corriverton Branch, treasurer and Imran Badrudeen of Demerara Bank Limited, assistant secretary treasurers.
Eight committee members were also elected. They are: Hamant Narine, Asrafally Yakub, Mohindra Persaud, Joseph Rayappen, Kumar Dudnath, Abraham Subnauth, Shewpaul Roopnarine and Nandraney Kishun. A board of five trustees and an auditor has also been elected.
The UCCCI aims to continue to promote development in trade and commerce nationally and internationally through collaborations with other private sector agencies and government. It is a member of the Private Sector Commission and the Association of Regional chamber of Commerce and boasts a membership of 70, eight of which are corporate companies.
