National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed will pedal off the third and final leg of the Cheddi Jagan Memorial races today.
According to a press release, the 50-mile road race will commence from Supenaam at 09:00 hrs, proceed to Charity before returning to Anna Regina for the finish.
The veterans, upright and female cyclists will start at Anna Regina, proceed to Charity and return to Anna Regina.
The race is sponsored by El Dorado Trading and S. Jagmohan Hardware Supplies and Construction Services.
The first six senior finishers, three juniors, three veterans, three uprights, two females and the first over 60-years to finish will all receive prizes. Eight prime prizes will be up for grabs during the course of the event.
Transportation for cyclists and officials from Georgetown to Shiraz Wharf at Parika will leave Mohamed’s 91 Middle Street Office at 05:00hrs this morning.
Cyclists are reminded to wear their respective club jerseys or white jerseys.
Last year’s senior winner was Alonzo Greaves in two hours 13 minutes and 12 seconds. Paul De Nobrega was the first junior while Mark Spencer, Rickey Kissoon, Walter Isaacs and Naomi Singh were the first veteran, upright, over 60-years and female cyclists respectively.
