At about 2355h last night police say that ranks responded to a report of assault and threatening behaviour at Beaver Street, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, where the alleged assailant Seon Bamfield, 23 years of Diamond Housing Scheme, EBD, was contacted.
During efforts to arrest Bamfield police say that he attacked the ranks with a knife, causing the police to resort to the use of force and he was shot.
He has been admitted a patient under guard at the GPHC.
