(Jamaica Observer) Defending four-day champions Jamaica were dismissed for 196 on the opening day of the regional semi-final match against Guyana at Sabina Park.
Donovan Pagon top scored with 53, while captain Tamar Lambert made 51.
After winning the toss and opting to take first strike, Jamaica lost wickets regularly and failed to post a formidable total against the spin threat offered by the Guyanese.
Left-arm orthodox slow bowler Veerasammy Permaul, leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo and part-time off-spinner Narsingh Deonarine took three wickets each.
In reply, Guyana closed on 14-1 after Jamaican pacer Andrew Richardson dismissed Trevon Griffith for one.
Day two will resume at 10:00am with Chanderpaul Hemraj on three and Leon Johnson on six.
