(Jamaica Gleaner) The Court of Appeal has sentenced convicted killer Jeffrey Perry to life imprisonment for the 2005 murders of three children in Killancholly, St Mary.
Perry was sentenced to life on all counts and is to spend 45 years in lock up before he is eligible for parole.
Perry was found guilty of murdering his cousins 13-year-old Sue Ann Gordon, 15-year-old Dwane Davidson and four-year-old Shadice Williams and was earlier sentenced to be hanged.
But his lawyer appealed and the Court of Appeal overturned the death sentence on the basis of a new law that, from the outset of the case, the prosecution would have had to indicate that it would have been seeking the death penalty.
The children were stabbed and their throats slashed between January 27 and January 28, 2005, at their home in Killancholly.
