A miner who is on a charge of breaking and entering was placed on $130,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Shawn Mayers, 20, of 3002 North Ruimveldt pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
It is alleged that the accused broke into the home of Michelle Gravesandy at 382 North Ruimveldt on the night of March 27 and removed a computer, DVD player, a PlayStation, two games, a radio set, two CDs, a flash drive and $110,000 in cash, all valued at a total of $361,500. Bail was granted under the condition that the accused must report to the North Ruimveldt Police Station every Friday at 9:00am.
The accused has to return to court on April 16 for the continuation of the matter.
