As action in the third edition of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) 10/10 nationwide softball cricket tournament continues around Guyana with teams battling for over G$30M in cash and incentives, one team from the Lower East Coast Zone is looking make big steps in this year’s competition.
That team, Dundee Kings, will lock horns with last year’s finalist, Mahaica Raiders in a important fixture at the Helena number two ground in Mahaica today.
Dundee Kings manager Iqbal Hussain tolf stabroek Sport:“This is a big game for us, we want the Raiders to know that we are prepared for all challenges they will pose for us in the batting and bowling departments.”
He added:“Although this is an away fixture for us, we will have great travelling support. The team is committed and relishing this challenge and we want to make those fans proud. In my view we have the best 10/10 team in the region five (5) capable of representing the region at country and we are out to prove that”. Key players in the batting for the Kings, will include the half a dozen batting group of captain Romain Boodram (captain), Ian Abel, Karran Persaud, Pooran Persaud, Tyrone English and Bissoon Ramdeo.
While in the bowling, their duo of opening bowlers Mustak Shaw and Wasim Mustapha are expected to be their main source of wickets.
