(Jamaica Observer) Prominent St Andrew doctor, Lloyd Cole was arrested and charged last weekend with procuring abortions on the weekend.
Dr Cole, 74, was taken into custody following allegations that he performed the illegal procedure on a 16-year-old girl at his office on March 13.
The girl reportedly suffered complications from the procedure, after which a report was made to the police, leading to the doctor’s detention Friday and charges being laid against him Saturday.
He was not offered bail and no date has been set yet for his appearance in court.
