Dear Editor,
I’m once again taking this opportunity to mention something which is very important to me and I think to many others. While doing some Christmas shopping last December around the city of Georgetown, I was very disappointed to see that although there were huge, beautiful and modern buildings and shopping centres all over, sadly the proprietors had never given a thought to the disabled. There are no parking lots for the handicapped; no elevators for the handicapped, and in general there are no facilities for the handicapped in Guyana. This is something the government should look into. There should be a requirement that these signs should be posted in all government sectors and all business places, just as they are all over the world.
Yours faithfully,
Delis Roth Mann
