A man who is facing a charge of fraudulent misappropriation was placed on $75,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Alan Wilson yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Noel Simon, 40, of North Ruimveldt pleaded not guilty to converting the sum of $242,000, property of Sipriani Odeh, to his own use and purpose.
It is alleged that during February at Alexander Street, Kitty, the accused was entrusted with the said money to purchase an engine and fuel for the virtual complainant. The accused, however, failed to fulfill his promise.
A report was made at the Ruimveldt Police Station and the accused was arrested and charged.
The matter will continue on May 23.
