Come Sunday, the Rising Sun Turf Club, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Durban Park, The Bartica Lions Club And the Central Demerara Lions Club will stage its fund raising one day meet at the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park, West Coast Berbice.
Eight races are scheduled and over 5M in prizes money and trophies are at stake.
The `B’ and lower event, the three-year-old race for horses born and bred in Guyana and the West Indies, the E and lower event and the race for three-year-olds Guyana bred horses are among the featured races of the day.
The B class event over 1400M will see the horses galloping for a first prize of $1M while the three-year-old Guyana and West Indies bred horses will battle for the top prize of $400,000 over a distance of 1400M.
The incentive in the E and lower event is worth $400,000 also over 1400M.
The winner of the three-year-old race for Guyana-bred horses over 1400M will receive $300,000.
The G Class race, which will also be run over 1400M, will see the winner taking away the $260,000 first prize.
Turfites will once again see the top H class animals’ race for the $200,000 first prize over 1400M.
The ‘I ‘class event has a winning tag of $180,000 and is over 1100M.
The division 1,2,3 race is the final race on the day card and victory in this event will see the champion taking home $100,000 in the 1100M sprint.
The Trophy Stall in Bourda Market will once again sponsor the champion jockey and champion trainer trophies.
The race will be run under the rules of the Rising Sun Turf Club.
