A man is in police custody after he was reportedly captured on a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera committing an armed robbery on Regent Street.
Police said in a press release yesterday that around 10 00 hours Stanley Persaud aged 37 years of Soesdyke, EBD, was walking along Regent Street, Georgetown, when he was attacked by a man armed with a knife. The armed perpetrator took away his gold band valued at $260,000 and escaped on a bicycle.
The robbery, according to the police was captured on the CCTV of a nearby business place which was viewed and led to the arrest of the perpetrator in a house at James Street, Albouystown. The gold band was recovered.
The suspect will be charged shortly, the police said
