Dear Editor,
The government has announced a six hundred dollars increase on the old age pension from May this year and probably that has prompted Banks DIH to increase their prices at the food outlets, in some cases by one hundred per cent.
A boiled egg that was fifty dollars is now one hundred dollars.a cup of coffee or tea that was one hundred and ten dollars is now one hundred and forty dollars, a breakfast that was five hundred and seventy dollars is now seven hundred dollars.
I must admit our service providers don’t know about five or ten per cent increases; even our government has increased the cost of a marriage licence from free to six thousand dollars.
Well so it goes.
Yours faithfully,
W P George
